The Canberra Symphony Orchestra requested the redesign of their logo and basic stationary items to attract new sponsors and investors. Historically, the logo utilised the CSO letterforms and the decision was made to keep this approach. The client had a very clear idea of what type of design they wanted: classic, clean and elegant, even luxurious.
When experimenting with a small piece of metal wire, I was able to bend and shape these letters into a physical object. The outcome was a simple, yet decorative and beautiful piece that inspired the logo. This was very well received as it resembles the brass instruments, which do not get as much representation in visual identities of orchestras as compared to the strings, for example.
I particularly enjoined working with this client because they were very collaborative and happy for me to explore different creative ideas and techniques.
